Our dining room serves as an eat-in kitchen and we cook and eat all of our meals here and also entertain guests. So, the dining room has to be functional for everyday affairs and has to be striking enough for us to entertain guests.

Design Brief

This space opens out to our living room, which features a Blue/Gray sofa, a Navy Blue rug, and dotted in Terracotta and Peach colors. We have some teal accents in the room as well. So, I didn't want the kitchen and dining room to clash with the living space. The room had to have a curated feel with vintage textiles and global pieces accentuating the decor. So, very Boho but with a Mid-Century modern feel as well - with clean lines, sleek finishes, and solid textures.

Watching Design Experts at Work

Watching Lauren take my idea and turn it into something concrete was fascinating to say the least. The dining room was given a very open and airy feel, which was lovely. It was homey yet high on style - the perfect place to relax with the kids and to entertain guests. The design features lots of earthy textures and natural fabrics/materials like cane and wood. The Mid-Century dining table from Target was definitely the centerpiece, and it is gorgeous. Lauren incorporated a lot of art pieces as well in the room, which adds character, and the indoor plants definitely brought in a fresh vibe as well! The color palette was just right, and the design approach that was taken by Lauren was the perfect blend of Mid-Century and Boho - just what I was looking for.

Designer Notes

This light and airy dining room incorporates a Mid Century modern feel, without being stiff and incorporating natural cane, dark table finish, and abstract neutral wall art in the design.

Using the Spacejoy App to Experience Designs in 3D

Experiencing the designs in 3D through the Spacejoy app was a treat! Really, the way I got to visualize the dining room was pretty amazing. The entire process was very user friendly and I felt comfortable through the whole thing. It was a pleasure seeing my dining room design and decor come together beautifully even before it was actually done.

Photorealistic images or 3D renders of Amanda’s Dining Room

The first thing we had to do was to give Lauren a brief about the design. Once that was done, the design process began. So, when we reached the stage where I had to see the 3D renders of the room, I was pretty excited. The images were so real, and it gave me the exact overview of how the dining room was going to look. After a few discussions and changes post that, we were ready to take it to the next level!
