This is an absoultely beautiful desk, drawers glide perfectly, ample storage and a great surface space. I've had it for over a month and there are markings all over the stop as the wood is unfinished - it needs a wax or poly coat on it. I can do this no problem i'm just shocked that for the price it wasn't done already? I knew this going in as other reviewers mentioned it and it's still worth it for all of the other great features. I hope to be able to pass this on some day....once I protect the top.

This is my first new desk in over 30 years. I’ve been using my old desk since I was a kid - it was a nice, old desk that someone refinished for my mom and it got me through middle and high school, then college, my first apartment, first house, and now into my mid-40’s. It was wonderful and I loved it, but it was small and cramped. And my wife hated it. So when we remodeled the house this year, decided it was high time for a new desk for the home office. I didn’t want something modern or trendy or gaudy and it took a long time to find something I liked the look of. When I saw the Kendall Walnut Desk at our local Crate & Barrel store, I fell in love instantly. I’ve been using it for about a month now and my experience has been a bit mixed. Part of the reason is that, despite weighing about a billion pounds and being a serious pain to move, it feels very fragile. There was a small, but easily overlooked, scuff already there upon delivery and I managed to put a little gouge into the top early on when I dropped my phone pulling it off the charger. Listening to the other reviewers, I also made it a point to give it multiple good coats of Howard Feed-N-Wax before I ever started using it to try to protect the finish from the jump. Unfortunately, I didn’t heed the comments about putting rubber-footed electronics on it so I ended up with small rings in the finish within mere hours of placing my HomePod speakers on it. Luckily another application of Feed-N-Wax took care of that, but now I feel like I have to treat the thing with kid gloves. My computer and the HomePods are now sitting on makeshift cardboard coasters until I can find something more permanent, and I’m using a gaming desk pad I had lying around to place under the keyboard and trackpad because I’m worried about resting my wrists on the wood and staining it. My biggest complaint, though, is something I haven’t seen anyone else mention - it wobbles. Not a ton, mind you, and I’m not saying it’s not sturdy or well built because it is. But the spindly legs don’t seem to be able to keep it completely solid when doing basic things like typing. I’ve basically gotten used to it now, but my computer and my lamp pretty consistently shake when typing just from the motion of moving my fingers on the keyboard. The first day I was working on it I thought it was going to turn out to be a deal breaker (my last desk was like the rock of Gibraltar and small missiles couldn’t shake it), but I’ve gotten okay with it, even if I’m still pretty annoyed that a desk this heavy and well built shakes just from typing. But at the end of the day it’s still incredibly beautiful and it makes an amazing visual statement in my office. It’s big, but the size is just right for me and allows me to spread out much more than I was ever able to before. Storage is adequate and honestly made me sort out and downsize a couple of drawers of junk that I’d accumulated in my old desk so that’s a net win. I would have loved to have gotten the matching credenza to make a set, but I didn’t have a wall big enough to support it. I plan on having this for years to come and hopefully handing down to my kids someday if they want it. So I’m going to try to take care of it and treat it well which is new to me since my old desk was already as old as the hills before I was even born. When figuring out if it’s the right desk for you, I’d definitely consider the maintenance aspects and the seeming fragility. If you’re rough on a desk, this one will probably take a beating. At the same time, that may give it a wonderful patina and some additional character that might be really nice.

Love the design of this desk. The top has me a little concerned though. It does not have a great finish on it for writing or sliding your keypad/mouse around on it. I’m not sure how it is going to hold up.

I purchased my Kendall about 3 months ago downsizing from a large L shaped and love it. Perfect size and I love the dark walnut. Seen some reviews that they didn’t like the finish which is matte but I thinks it’s perfect as is.

I purchased this desk in walnut and it is just beautiful! I use a leather blotter to protect it. It’s very well made and has just the right amount of drawers. Love this purchase!

I purchased this about two months ago and it has exceeded expectations. It is deep enough for my laptop and a second monitor. Has enough drawers and the right style of drawers to put work away at the end of the day

Never spent this much one something other than my couch so was worried. It is beautiful natural wood, deep enough to told my monitor and keyboard (WFH never ending) but not so deal it overwhelms the room as it is in my Livingroom. I did get a desk pad just to protect it from my writing and coffee mug. The guys who delivered it were great and SO careful about how they treated it and my space.

I bought this and it is exactly what I expected. Super clean but is a little wobbly without anything in it.

I recently purchased this desk used from the original owner. When I bought it it was very discolored on the top and a few other areas. But that is indeed the beauty of the piece. It doesn't have a hard clear finish like cheaper furniture to make it "shine." When cheaper furniture becomes scratched or damaged it's difficult to fix because of the clear top coat. But this piece is just the natural walnut with stain and wax. I used Howard Feed and Wax when I got it home and it looked brand new again. This is a desk I'll keep forever. It's a fine piece of mid century style and made well. Just remember, it takes some feeding of wax every now and then.
