I bought this set in November and it still makes me feel so thrilled whenever I look at it. It was easy to set up and it beautifully matches my other furnishings. Tip: lay it on the floor to figure out which configuration and spacing you’d prefer before mounting on the wall. The options felt endless, which is just plain ol’ fun.

I was looking for something fun and modern to go with my transitional style. These brass shelves were just what I needed! The brass color is not full and is between a gold and brass. I’m able to add fun modern decor to my built in which is perfect because I get bored of my wall decor quite often. This is a must if you are looking for gold/brass to go with your room.

I got these as a Christmas gift and was incredibly excited. The antique brass color pairs perfectly with the brass pulls on my restored mid century dresser. It is definitely not a shiny gold, which I was thankful for. Keep in mind, the shelves nest into each other in a specific order, so assembly has to be down with that in mind. I mapped out where I wanted each of them first, held them in place with my roomies help, and marked the wall accordingly. The screws that came with these are okay for drywall installation (and they come with anchors!), but I needed one drilled through a stud and ended up stripping it and having to use one of my own heavy duty screws. Overall, I am super satisfied and am loving these shelves.

I never write reviews, but this was the worst assembly experience I've ever had. I am usually quite good at assembling furniture, even without instructions, and I've done shelves before. However, the drill bit that the instructions call for is too small for the plastic wall anchors. Therefore, when hammering the anchors in (as the instructions call for with images) they bent, were therefore unusable, and had to be removed. When I caught on that I'd need to drill a bigger bit, I purchased that size, but had only 2 remaining anchors and had to buy more for the 2nd shelf. Finally, with one shelf installed and my drywall significantly damaged from the process of installing and uninstalling anchors, which would have been avoided if the instructions were CORRECT, it became clear I'd need to remove the shelf because to achieve the overlapping design that is seen in the photo, a process that is NOT described in the instructions, they need to be layered in specific order and manner (I think!). So exhausted from the process of then removing the finished shelf and destroying my dry wall from poor instructions and designated materials, that I've not gotten that far. I'll need to pay money for the drywall to be repaired before I can consider these shelves again. SO disappointed as I'm a loyal customer of CB2. Literally, the worst thing I've purchased from this store.

For anyone who is using these for a tile application I figured it out. So the material provided says it’s for drywall, but I was still able to make it work. The anchors are fine but tile doesn’t give like drywall and the bit they suggest is too small. My tile is thin so a quarter inch tile bit worked great. I would recommend pre drilling with a 3/16 bit and only using the 1/4 bit for the thick end of the anchor. As in go pretty much as deep as the tile goes with the 1/4. Either way the anchors they gave hold plenty.

I love the shelves now that they are up but it is not an easy install with a drill and angle of the shelves. You need two people and hope not to strip the screws.

When an item is advertised as brass you don't expect to receive metal that's poorly spray painted gold. Just from being in the box together the paint rubbed off in the corners where they made contact. I thought it was due to shipping company not being careful but just dropping the screw onto one while installing, scratched the paint off where it made contact. If it weren't such a hassle to take them down without further ruining them I'd return to a store but they're screwed into the wall, I guess they live here now.

These shelves are excellent and look very nice in my modern apartment!

Very modern! Easy to put up helps add a little something to wall decor without looking too busy. Hard part is finding the right stuff to place on the shelves but you really don’t need a lot since the brass shelves can stand alone.
