Grow sago palm in medium or bright light. It excels in bright spots. Sago palm can take the direct sun on its foliage when grown as a houseplant, even in hot summer areas. It's best to water when the top inch or so of the soil dries. It hates overly moist or soggy soil. Fertilize it once every six months or so with a general-purpose fertilizer labeled for use on houseplants. Repot your Sago palm when it becomes root-bound.
