We are a young and busy family of five, moving into a new home in Toronto, and we need to furnish our dining room from scratch. We have three young boys, ages 7, 3, and 20 months, so our furniture must be kid-friendly and durable enough to withstand their rough play. We’re looking for a large dining table that can seat 8-10 people, as we have extended family over often and love hosting dinner parties

Lauren, our resident designer, resides in Los Angeles, California. She has a keen eye for detail and loves to design functional spaces high on style. She loves a good hack and has a ton of design tips and DIY ideas always ready to offer as solutions
Design Brief
The space should be functional and beautiful, focusing on comfort and style. We want a unique solid wood dining table as the focal point, complemented by accent chairs and a sideboard or small seating area that can also function as additional seating for larger gatherings. The room will be lit by a large chandelier above the dining table, and we would love to bring in some additional accent pieces to add warmth and character, such as mirrors, artwork, and sconces

Designer Notes
Hi Husna, I'm so glad you love the new pieces!! I do think its really coming together. :) Here, I've shown the curtains in the renders as well as an accent wall with the windows, in Brush Blue, also by Benjamin Moore, that I think really pops with the new draperies and the art on that wall. Using the Spacejoy App to Experience Designs in 3D
One of the most exciting parts of the process was using the Spacejoy app to experience my designs in 3D. I was able to virtually step into my future home, exploring every angle and detail of each room before making any decisions. was so helpful to see how everything came together in a more immersive way

The photorealistic images and 3D renders Spacejoy provided were absolutely stunning. They allowed me to see my design ideas in incredible detail, giving me a true-to-life preview of how the rooms would look once everything was in place. I was so impressed by the quality of these renders—it felt like I was already living in my new space!

Spacejoy & Designer Lauren I moved into a new home and needed design help to figure out how to furnish and decorate several rooms in my new home.
