For this living room space enclosed by classic built-in bookshelves, we focused on creating a cozy seating area that not only greets you the moment you walk in but also serves as the background for endless conversations. It features a rich brown leather Chesterfield sofa, a dark marine blue leather tufted ottoman, and a pair of wingback chairs. The wingback chair is beautifully finished with brown cherry wood, carved with intricate details, and upholstered with a dark brown leather with nailhead trim that goes well with the vintage theme. A glider chair from Room and Board fabricated in Vashon Ink, a deep blue color, in the left corner paired with a bronze metal floor lamp to create a little reading nook that everyone can enjoy. The gaming and homework corner is by the bay window. The black round table with the carved pedestal base is accompanied by dining chairs with a brushed ebony frame, textural caning, and a neutral linen cushion. The paint in the design is Sherwin Williams Charcoal Blue. Although it’s categorized as a navy color, it has a bit more gray, which adds to a dark and moody look. To add richness and texture to the room, midnight blue curtains are hung at the windows. The result is a dramatic room that captures the eye and creates instant interest.
