I want this space to feel like home for anyone who walks in. It should reflect my bright, optimistic, and friendly personality, making everyone feel comfortable. My goal is to create a unique environment that is also usable and functional. I envision a cozy area where I can curl up and sprawl out, while also having designated places for everything when guests come over. Since my desk is in this space, I work here and spend a lot of my evenings relaxing and enjoying dinner.

Lauren, our resident designer, resides in Los Angeles, California. She has a keen eye for detail and loves to design functional spaces high on style. She loves a good hack and has a ton of design tips and DIY ideas always ready to offer as solutions

Design Brief

This space needs to serve multiple purposes: a cozy area for lounging, a workspace for my desk, and an entertaining zone for guests. I envision everything having its place to enhance usability while maintaining a cohesive look. I want bold and unique design elements that stand out yet still embody my personality, ensuring that the space is distinct from my bedroom and previous studio. Overall, I’m looking for a design that promotes relaxation and functionality, allowing me to curl up or sprawl out as I enjoy my evenings.

Watching Design Experts at Work

I had an incredible experience with Spacejoy, especially watching my designer, Lauren, at work! Her ability to transform my studio apartment into a functional space with ample storage was truly impressive. She selected pieces that fit perfectly, utilizing areas I didn’t even know I had, all while maintaining a cozy, homey vibe that I love.

Designer Notes:

Hi Kim! I think the new rug really pops, and lights up the room beautifully. I changed out a few pillows to coordinate with the rug colors, added a new darker wood toned accent chair (I could not find one with the rounded arms like the previous revision with a darker finish) and placed a small c table under the floor lamp left of the sofa to pull up with you have meals seated while watching tv. Your Designer, Lauren :)

It’s a game changer for me, as I can experiment with various styles and ensure that my space reflects my personality while being functional. The 3D experience has made the design process much more enjoyable and has helped me bring my vision to life!

I absolutely loved using Spacejoy. My designer Lauren, did such an amazing job of meeting my design goals of creating space with a lot of storage in my studio apartment. All the pieces she picked were perfect and utilized space I didn't even know I had, while keeping it all really homey which I absolutely love. I'm moving from a studio to a 1 br and can't wait to use Spacejoy again!
