Design Brief

With me, it’s always bolder, the better. So, one of the first things I told Lauren was that the colors she used for the decor had to be bright and happy. Multi-colors and pastels are right up my alley. Tan and beige, not so much. This room will be my office space, and I work from home. So it has to be designed in a way that it ensures productivity, allows me to be creative and comfortable at the same time. The decor, therefore, had to be functional and with enough storage space for all my work things. And yes, without compromising on aesthetics. On design - I am excited by different styles and textures. I love the eclectic decor, so that had to be featured, but with a fun Mid-Century modern twist. Mandatory additions to the room - I needed a desk with enough space around it to work on my iMac; I wanted proper storage for the laser printer, and the shelves on one wall would have to stay.

Watching Design Experts at Work

Watching Lauren put together, the design was incredible. She hit all the right notes, high on style, full marks on functionality, and more than enough storage - precisely what I wanted. Lauren worked marvelously with the space, including everything that I put on my wishlist. The driftwood desk from World Market was just what I was looking for, and the way she played with textures, it was terrific. Storage space was added in the form of baskets and shelves and bookcases from various places like Wayfair and West Elm, and I must say it opened my eyes to what you can do with a simple piece of furniture and accessory. The color of the room was my favorite thing; it was happy and warm and bright, just the way I like it. The time frame within which it was executed was perfect, there were no unnecessary delays, and the office was completed well within the time and budget that I was hoping for.

Using the Spacejoy App to Experience Designs in 3D

The Spacejoy app is quite exciting. I have used the services of an interior designer in the past, but I was given the opportunity to view my room in 3D even before it was done. This, I think, made my experience with Spacejoy even more memorable. I loved the interactive nature of the App and it gave me a great sense of what the outcome was going to be like.

The feedback process was straightforward with Lauren. I was given two design options for my home office, and once I knew which one I wanted to go ahead with, progress was smooth. There were a few additions and revisions I wanted, and Lauren incorporated them without any difficulty...ultimately producing the perfect rendition of my home office.
