A Plain Bedroom gets a Surprisingly Sweet Refresh

My husband and I were looking to redo our master bedroom. We've decorated using soft accents and minimalist furniture, but of late, we feel the need to shake things up a bit and give it a makeover.

Lauren, our resident designer, resides in Los Angeles, California. She has a keen eye for detail and loves to design functional spaces high on style. She loves a good hack and has a ton of design tips and DIY ideas always ready to offer as solutions.
My Design Brief: To give my plain white bedroom a stylish makeover using neutrals and classic textures
Once I signed up on Spacejoy, I shared a detailed account of my design preferences with Lauren, my designer. My current color palette in the bedroom follows farmhouse and country aesthetics — a style I absolutely love. So, I wanted her to retain this while I was open to the idea of adding some textures and classic layers to elevate the style. Currently, my room looks dull and uninspiring. With this design exercise, I was hoping to give it an inspiring makeover. I have an idea of what furniture, decor, and lighting I like. While I am not particular about brands, I do have some favorites, but I also have a strict budget in mind that I didn't want to exceed. I armed Lauren with a detailed brief covering the above touchpoints and a Pinterest board full of ideas I've saved over the months and let her work her magic. However, there was one more important detail to point out that could have handicapped our final design. Changing the layout of the room was not an option because of our wall mount TV. The bed had to retain its position.
Watching Design Experts at Work
Lauren drew up the layout of the room and curated a mood board to complement my vision, while retaining some of our old furniture that I was particular to keep. I was quite excited to see the products in the mood board because they were in sync with my preferences.
Designer Notes
Whites, ivories, and pastels help create a light and airy color palette, while adding layers and texture to the room with cashmere, velvets and linens, keeps the bedroom cozy. A large mirror bounces light, with the dresser making space for a tufted bench, completing the French Country feel.

I consider myself tech-savvy. Yet I was utterly blown away with the 3D experience on the Spacejoy desktop app. I went through my design concepts on the app. The interactiveness is very handy to not only play around with the design, but to provide feedback or while finalizing the design

Lauren handpicked products for us after scouting hoards of online stores. I’ve tried to do this in the past and know it’s not an easy task at hand. We really appreciate the effort that went into getting everything right - from the budget to the style. Her recommendations of a peregrine rug, velvet throw pillows and curtain panels along with the cashmere throws were just the textures I needed to up the style quotient in my bedroom.
