A steel architect's flat file cabinet repurposed for use as a coffee table. It has been refinished in black with the addition of a unique, reclaimed wood top and heavy duty casters with a simple brake option. The top was recovered from a historic tavern in Princeton, New Jersey. Original brass hardware has been polished. The drawers have a hinged steel flap to secure contents. Lots of storage perfect for photos, artwork, table linens, etc. and, of course, blueprints or maps. Although refinished with a coffee table in mind, it would look great and be useful anywhere.
The pairing of industrial and organic elements gives this piece a distinctive, rustic modern spirit. The warm toned top with its rounded edge looks beautiful against the clean lines of the black steel and brilliant hardware
