I furnished most of my house in these bought about 12 of them. I’m less than a year the velvet turns reddish white from sun exposure. On the cotton side (when left closed during the day) the fabric turned red as well and looks extra faded. I wouldn’t use these for sun blockage. Looks better decorative and open away from sunlight. I have very large windows so unavoidable. Wish they didn’t fade so much it was an expensive mistake.

I bought these last winter to help add some warmth to the decor and am pleased with my purchase. The velvet fabric is high quality and blocks out all of the light when needed, which is perfect for our bedroom. I'm not usually a blue person but the midnight blue is a beautiful shade.
