We have low pile carpeting and my husband wanted something softer underfoot when he gets out of bed; we liked this rug so much in our bedroom that I bought another for the family room. It is very soft and plush, and does not mat down under foot traffic. Neither has been a problem with shedding. The colors are very pretty, and the site's description was accurate. While they both laid perfectly smooth and flat on the hardwood floor, I've had some issues with wrinkling after moving them to the carpeted floors. I don't see this as a flaw in the rugs, they just "skid" a bit on the softer surface.

Love, love this area rugs. It truly off sets my main piece of furniture in my family room. Having 3 big dogs, 2 Boxers and 1 German Shepherd it truly blends with all there hair coloring. I also purchased the 6 feet runnier for my front door. Love, love the color combinations. Money well spent!
